It's a surprising sight: in the largest crocodile farm in the Mediterranean, 400 Nile crocodiles evolve in a setting that reconnects with the Saharan and African depths of the country, among papyrus, palm trees and banana trees. They laze in the sun in the ponds and the tropical greenhouse before frolicking and fighting for food. A real change of scenery.
An imposing fort evoking desert architecture marks the entrance to the wildlife park. It is to the sound of African music that we let ourselves be guided towards the pools and the tropical greenhouse where swim – or rather laze in the sun – 400 Nile crocodiles, brought from Madagascar. The Nile crocodile is one of the largest species of crocodilians, it can reach, for certain males, up to 7 meters and weigh almost a ton. Its morphology makes it one of the most formidable species.

2 months agoThe Djerba Crocodile Farm is a great place to explore, especially if you’re curious about reptiles. Around 11 AM, there’s an informative and interactive show where you can learn more about the crocodiles and other animals in the park. At noon, you even have the chance to take photos holding small crocodiles, a unique and memorable moment! Before entering the crocodile area, make sure to visit the museum inside the park. It features interesting artifacts and exhibits that highlight the rich history and culture of the region. A well-rounded visit combining nature, learning, and local heritage.

3 weeks agoOne of the most interesting places on Djerba. The place is large and well maintained. There are lots of palm trees and greenery. There is a cafe, a themed shop with crocodile things. There is a museum... We saw lots of turtles and iguanas. Of course there are hundreds of crocodiles. All sizes from babies to 6-7 meters. On the recommendation of previous visitors we went when they were feeding the crocodiles. It was very impressive. If we had the chance we would visit the farm again.

5 months agoThe crocodile farm is beautifully designed and very well maintained. One of the most positive aspects is that the animals have plenty of space—they look healthy and relaxed, which suggests they are well cared for. A real highlight is the chance to gently hold a small crocodile and take a memorable photo—an exciting experience, especially for children. At 4 p.m., there is a crocodile feeding session, which is both fascinating and educational. Watching the animals up close during feeding time is truly impressive. Overall, it’s a great place to visit for animal lovers and families alike!

2 months agoA truly unique and interesting place to visit and spend time, especially with children. You can see turtles, lizards, and crocodiles. The entry fee includes a crocodile feeding demonstration and a photo session with a juvenile. Tickets are very reasonably priced (30 Dirhams), and the visit lasts approximately two hours.

a month agoSo many crocs all in one place, from babies to really big ones!! Giant tortoises too. Also get to have a walk around a museum. The park is really well run with a few cafes and shops if you fancy it. We used tours sans soucis and couldn’t have asked for better!! Great value for money.
